LeoneAmerica, Avondale, Ariz, a division of American Tooth Industries, has introduced a new instrument for use with its F-1000 self-ligating brackets. The instrument can be used to open or close the NiTi ligation cover of F-1000 brackets. When the instrument is used in one direction, pressure with the thumb will cause the ligation cover to slide on its two tracks and open for the insertion of the archwire. If a user flips the instrument over, the design allows for the archwires to be held into place while the pressure of the thumb reverses the prior action and closes the ligation cover.
