Smiles for a lifetime Logo.Ormco Corporation, Glendora, Calif, recently hosted its 3rd annual Smile for a Lifetime Foundation (S4L) fundraiser and raised $100,000 for the non-profit organization, which provides quality orthodontic treatment for patients with financial challenges and special orthodontic needs.

The fundraiser was held at the 12th Annual Damon Forum on February 15, 2013. The funds will be used toward support S4L in its mission to provide free quality orthodontic care to children. The $100,000 is the highest total ever raised, making it the most successful event to date, according to Ormco, a manufacturer and provider of advanced orthodontic technology and services.

Smile for a Lifetime expressed their gratitude for support from Ormco, which is a primary sponsor of S4L and provides free brackets and wires to the orthodontists who award and treat scholarship recipients. “This year alone, through Ormco’s support, we hope to serve more than 1,200 young people, awarding $7.2 million in orthodontic scholarships,” said Ron Redmond, DDS, MS, FACD, president of S4L’s national board.

The fundraiser, which included an “Orthos’s Got Talent” karaoke competition, also auctioned off several donated items and services. Some of the marquee auction items were a practice valuation by McGill & Hill Group, a 50% discount on Cloud9Ortho licensing fee, and a golf trip for two to play at The Old Course in St. Andrews, Scotland, one of the oldest golf courses in the world.
