Continuing in its mission to prevent infections in health care environments, Professional Disposables International Inc (PDI) will support Give Kids a Smile, a 1-day program that provides underprivileged children with free dental care. Partnering with Henry Schien, PDI will help supply dental product kits to the more than 2,000 participating sites. Each kit will contain enough items to serve 50 children. The next Give Kids a Smile Day is scheduled for February 6, 2009.
Since the first Give Kids a Smile Day in February 2003, more than 7 million children have been treated through the progam. The ADA created the program as a way to spread awareness of widespread oral disease affecting children from low-income families, and to build support for solutions that will help these children get regular oral health care.
