As practices reopen, many team members are anxious. They are wondering if they are safe in their practices. In the latest episode of In the Sterilization Room with Jackie, infection control and prevention expert Jackie Dorst, RDH, BS, explains how training and reviewing basic standard precautions can go a long way to alleviating anxiety and giving team members the confidence and knowledge to know that both they and their patients are safe. Dorst provides a number of training resources that are available and basic practices team members can review right now. She also talks about the patient triage and employee wellness check process—a new component of a practice’s day-to-day operation—and how training can ensure team members and patients feel confident that they are being assessed appropriately.
