Dentsply Sirona, Charlotte, NC, recently introduced CEREC Ortho SW 2.0. This software module gives users access to specific orthodontic functions immediately after the digital impression with the company’s new Primescan intraoral scanner.

CEREC Ortho SW 2.0 orthodontic workflow allows users to add a base to the model, perform a comprehensive model analysis, and perform a simulation of the treatment outcome that can be used immediately for patient communication chair side. According to the company, the model analysis, including Bolton and space requirement analysis, is done quickly making it part of the scanning session. It also includes a Moyers mixed dentition analysis, transverse distance, symmetry, occlusion class, and overjet, and overbite. With the segmentation function, users can measure teeth quickly and almost automatically, according to the company. In addition, the extensive analysis sheet can be exported in PDF format for documentation purposes.

The software includes specific interfaces that transfer the data in the required format with a few clicks, for example to the Dentsply Sirona SureSmile system. Furthermore, open STL files can also be created.
