The course will explore the management and correction of specific dental problems involving each individual tooth with case examples of multiple issues related to the incisors. The mechanics of cuspid movement and the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of impacted cuspids will be described. The bicuspid extraction vs nonextraction issue will be reviewed in detail, as well as first and second molars relative to anchorage control, distalization, and vertical control. In addition, all aspects of the Avex pre-adjusted appliance system and the adhesives used with it will be discussed, and information on the use of the current archwire system will be reviewed. Selected cases from Opal Orthodontics’ other six courses will be presented during the course.

This course closely coincides with the material covered in the textbook Orthodontic Management of the Dentition with the Preadjusted Appliance, written by John C. Bennett, FDS, RCS, and McLaughlin.
