On June 13, 2008, the Organization for Safety and Asepsis Procedures (OSAP) will hold a California Dental Practice Act and Dental Infection Control course at the Westin Mission Hills Resort and Spa in Palm Springs, Calif. The course, which will be taught by Eve Cuny, RDA, MS, will include information on the necessary standards for infection control and the legal requirements of the California Dental Practice Act.

Cuny will focus on practical ways for dental practitioners to meet the minimum standards for infection control and ensure compliance with the California Dental Practice Act. She will also cover topics on transmission of bloodborne disease, disinfection, sterilization, exposure incident follow-up, dental-unit waterlines, scope of practice, auxiliary duties, and regulatory activity that has a direct impact on dental practices.

Lunch is included with registration. Participants also will have the opportunity to visit infection-control product vendors. Participants will receive four units of California continuing education credit from the California Dental Board. Four hours of CE credit also will be available through DANB and ADA CERP.
