Bartholomew Frank Palmisano, Jr, was sentenced last week to more than 3 years in prison for illegally inflating the revenues and assets of Orthodontic Centers of America Inc (OCA) when he was the company’s chief financial officer, according to the Associated Press. Palmisano pled guilty to the charges in federal court in June.

US District Judge Kurt D. Engelhardt sentenced Palmisano for falsifying corporate records and lying to auditors and accountants. Palmisano also was ordered to pay a $10,000 fine and more than $325,000 in restitution.

Palmisano reportedly falsified documents between 1998 and 2001. OCA was a publicly traded company formerly based in Metairie, La.
