The Organization for Safety, Asepsis and Prevention (OSAP) held its Dental Infection Control Boot Camp, where it recognized two companies for their infection control product lines. Attendees voted to select the companies from among all the exhibitors that they felt deserved special recognition for infection control design.

The Boot Camp was held January 9 to 11, 2017, at the Hyatt Regency in Atlanta.

The winner for Most Innovative Product was Stoma Dental, Chesterfield, Mo,  for its DOVE Disposable Valves. The company, which only recently entered the disposables market, created the product to address cleaning inconsistencies relating to evacuation valves.

Meanwhile, Chicago-based Hu-Friedy was recognized as Top Infection Control Coordinator’s Choice. The category recognizes the company most likely to “enhance compliance,” according to a press release from OSAP.

The OSAP Boot Camp is held annually for dental professionals with infection control responsibilities. The program features national and international experts in infection prevention and safety. The Boot Camp also features exhibitors, which allows attendees to learn more about infection control products and services.
