The program provides healthcare products and supplies to selected medical and dental nonprofit organizations to support expanded access to care for underserved communities.

Henry Schein Inc is accepting applications for its Global Product Donation Program, which provides a variety of healthcare products and supplies to selected medical and dental nonprofit organizations to support their efforts to expand access to care for underserved communities.

Each recipient will receive two or more donations of products, distributed based on availability, throughout 2021 and 2022, with a total fair-market value ranging anywhere from $5,000 to $25,000. The deadline to apply for the 2021 program is September 30, 2020.

The Global Product Donation Program is an initiative of Henry Schein Cares, the global corporate social responsibility program of Henry Schein Inc, which aims to expand access to health care for underserved and at-risk populations around the world by promoting wellness, prevention, treatment, and education; providing emergency preparedness and relief; and building health care capacity.

“Henry Schein has worked for two decades to build capacity by supporting community health organizations who share our commitment to expanding access to care, and as the COVID-19 pandemic has progressed, the need to address health disparities within underserved communities of color is even more urgent,” said Jennifer Kim Field, vice president, corporate social responsibility, Henry Schein Inc. “We are pleased to assist nonprofit organizations through the Global Product Donation Program so they can help provide care for people who might otherwise go without.”

To be considered as a candidate for the Global Product Donation Program, applicants must be a nonprofit organization that is tax-exempt under IRS Section 501(c)(3) and a public charity. The applicant should include details regarding the size and population of the community it serves; the number of health care professionals involved; their ability to use and dispense a selection of available dental and medical products (recipients may not request specific products); their ability to store large pallets of products twice a year; and the alignment of the organization’s goals with the mission of Henry Schein Cares. The organization also must be able to accept a shipment in the United States.

Organizations will be notified of their application status by November 30, 2020, and only a limited number of organizations will be accepted. If accepted, organizations will proceed with enrollment for the 2021 program.
