Each February, the ADA sponsors National Children’s Dental Health Month (NCDHM) to raise awareness about the importance of oral health.

As part of NCDHM, the ADA is offering orthodontists free online resources that can help you with oral health presentations and activity sheets that can be used as handouts. Booklets, videos, and other materials are also available through the [removed]ADA Catalog[/removed].

The NCDHM campaign features a two-sided poster with characters called the McGrinn Twins, Flossy and Buck, reminding children "For a Sparkly Smile, Remember to Brush & Floss Every Day!" On the opposite side (pictured), preteens and teens are encouraged to "Rock Your Smile" with general oral health messages.

There are many ways to publicize your oral health messages, events, and activities. The ADA suggests developing a list of the local newspapers, radio, and television stations. Many libraries have media directories (such as Bacon’s), which include addresses, phone numbers, names of editors or producers, and circulation or broadcast information.

According to the ADA, the local phone directory is a good resource for locating news outlets. Don’t forget community news or "free" papers, which often feature community events.
