CareCredit?, Costa Mesa, Calif, has reached an important milestone. The company had its 100,000th dental practice recently enroll to accept the CareCredit healthcare credit card as a payment option for patients. According to a release from the company, the milestone means that eight out of 10 dental practices in the United States now accept CareCredit.

The company reports that, on average, it approves 6,300 new CareCredit credit card accounts each day.

CareCredit was founded in 1987, with the aim of giving patients a way to pay for new dental implant technology. During the last 27 years, the company has expanded at the request of patients and providers to other healthcare segments, including optometric, ophthalmic, veterinary, audiology, cosmetic surgery, and, most recently dermatology.

“This is an important milestone for CareCredit,” said David Fasoli, president and CEO of CareCredit. “CareCredit’s beginnings are in dentistry, and it has always been our goal to help dentists and their teams make it easier for patients to access the care they need. In a recent survey, 81% of our cardholders agreed that having the CareCredit healthcare credit card made it possible to start treatment immediately, and nine out of 10 CareCredit cardholders say they would recommend CareCredit to friends and family.”
