Cantel Medical announced the completion of its acquisition of Hu-Friedy, a dental instrument manufacturing company. The deal was first announced in July.

Cantel will combine Hu-Friedy with its dental division, Crosstex, which specializes in infection prevention, sterility assurance, dental water management, and conscious sedation systems.

According to a press release from Cantel Medical, “The acquisition will enhance the dental division’s supply chain efficiency and enable it to better support its distribution partners while also addressing the increased concern among healthcare professionals in the areas of clinical performance, compliance, technology, education, and training.”

Cantel President and CEO George Fotiades said, “Today represents another important step for Cantel, one that allows us to further accelerate our ability to provide a ‘Complete Circle of Protection’ that includes dental workflow management solutions, instrument reprocessing, infection prevention, and compliance.”

Ron Saslow, chairman and CEO of Hu-Friedy, and Ken Serota, president of Hu-Friedy, will lead the combined dental business.

Cantel acquired Hu-Friedy for $725 million.
