3Shape, Copenhagen, Denmark, received the 2019 Cellerant “Best of Class” Award for the TRIOS 4 intraoral scanner. This marks the seventh year in a row that 3Shape TRIOS intraoral scanner models have won the award.
The company originally launched the TRIOS intraoral scanner in 2011.
3Shape TRIOS 4 features dual caries detection. According to a press release from the company, the caries diagnosis aid for surface caries is not yet cleared by the FDA for clinical use in the United States; while the caries diagnostic aid for interproximal detection is not yet available.
The wireless intraoral scanner also includes a new generation of TRIOS smart tips that feature instant-heat technology for optimized scanning.
All TRIOS models feature an open workflow ecosystem and partner-integrations with orthodontic, implant-makers, practice management, and sleep treatment providers, as well as manufacturing options with 3D printers and milling machines.
The 2019 Cellerant Best of Class Technology Award is selected by a panel of print technology leaders in dentistry.
