Reneida Reyes, DDS, MPH, president, ADA Foundation, receives CareCredit’s $100,000 Grant to benefit the ADA Foundation GKAS Fund.

For the 10th consecutive year, CareCredit has donated $100,000 to the ADA Foundation (ADAF) Give Kids A Smile (GKAS) Fund. The $100,000 grant is designated to support GKAS programs and events with the goal of providing treatment, education, and screening for underserved children.

The CareCredit donation will fund several GKAS access to care initiatives including collaborative events between GKAS and the nonprofit organization TeamSmile. These collaborative events will bring together dentists and dental team members who will volunteer their time to provide education and free oral health treatment to underserved children in collaboration with high-profile sports teams. These events provide an opportunity for children to interact with the players and dental team members, while teaching them about the basics of dental care.

“CareCredit is excited to have helped fund the Give Kids A Smile program for the past 10 years and we are happy to be able to continue to support this important cause,” said Cindy Hearn, senior vice president, branding and communications for CareCredit, and member of the ADA Foundation Board of Directors and the ADAF’s GKAS Committee. “As the Founding Donor of the ADA Foundation GKAS Fund, we’re pleased that our grant will, once again, help improve the lives of children who have little or no access to necessary dental care and help them find a dental home.”
