The American Board of Orthodontics (ABO), St Louis, certified or recertified 113 orthodontists who successfully completed its clinical examination, held in February 2013.
During this exam session, 65 orthodontists successfully completed the ABO’s Gateway Certification Examination, which renewed their existing diplomate certifications.
Meanwhile, 42 orthodontists completed the Initial Certification Examination (ICE), which allowed them to be certified as Diplomates of the ABO. In addition, the ABO also certified or recertified 6 other orthodontists who successfully completed requirements for becoming Diplomates.
The ABO also noted that 16 additional orthodontists banked cases for the eventual completion of the ICE.
