The ADA has appointed Wendy-Jo Toyama as its senior vice president for the Division of Membership, Tripartite Relations, and Marketing.

Toyama serves as a member of the ADA’s executive team and oversees the ADA’s marketing, membership, relationships with state and local dental societies, and international activities. Her responsibilities also include management of the ADA brand and oversight of member and customer experience.

"We are delighted to have Wendy-Jo assume this critical post," said James B. Bramson, DDS, executive director of ADA. "She is a talented, creative leader whose vision will enhance the ADA’s ability to serve dental professionals and our patients in an evolving health care marketplace."

Toyama joined the ADA in 2003 as director, leading staff teams in developing and implementing strategies and resources to assist state and local dental societies in their membership outreach efforts and serving volunteer leaders.

Her previous professional experience includes marketing and communications roles in corporate and nonprofit settings. From 1996 to 2001, she served as vice president of marketing and communications for the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago, where her responsibilities included membership recruitment and retention. She has headed her own design firm and has served as an independent consultant in marketing and communications with clients in law, human resources, and financial services. She also has held managerial positions in advertising and marketing with the Tribune Company.
