Stanley M. Bergman, chairman and chief executive officer of Henry Schein Inc, Melville, NY, recently joined Team Schein Members nationwide to recognize National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Team Schein Members who wore pink and contributed their own funds to support cancer research and care.
In addition to its recent show of support, the company launched its 2012 "Think Pink, Practice Pink," program last month. For the past 7 years, the program has served to raise more than $500,000, while increasing awareness of breast cancer and other cancers by offering "pink products" to its orthodontic customers. These products range from health care consumables and practice supplies to apparel and gift items.
The company notes that through the end of December, a portion of the sales of the products will be donated to the American Cancer Society through the Henry Schein Cares Foundation.
