Planmeca, Helsinki, Finland, has launched a new 3D printer for the dental space.

Currently, the Planmeca Creo has the capability to print custom dental splints, implants, and surgical guides. Down the road, it is expected to support 3D printing of temporary fillings and orthodontic models.

The Planmeca Creo is a DLP, or digital light processing, 3D printer. It comes with dedicated 3D printing software and uses UV curable resin to print models.

The Planmeca Creo is currently available for preorder, with deliveries expected to begin in June 2016.
