Air Techniques Inc, Melville, NY, has added the ProVecta S-Pan Cephalometric X-ray to its ProVecta line of digital X-rays.

According to the company, ProVecta S-Pan Ceph produces “quick cephalometric projections with the best image quality at a low X-ray dose.” The ProVecta S-Pan Ceph has a short scanning time of 4.1 seconds, reducing the risk of motion blur, making it ideal for young patients undergoing orthodontic treatment.

The ProVecta S-Pan Ceph has two high-end CsI sensors, which are integrated in the unit, enabling the system with all of the functions and advantages of the ProVecta S-Pan Panoramic X-Ray. The sensors allow users to eliminate the switching between the panoramic X-ray unit and the cephalometric arm. The program mode can be set accordingly to start a cephalometric X-ray. In addition to the 17 panoramic programs available, five programs for all cephalometric X-ray recordings are also included: Head lateral L, PA head, SMV (submentovertex), Waters view, and Hand (Carpus).

According to the company, the S-Pan technology uses a unique algorithm to compile up to 20 layers from one panoramic rotation into one clear and short image in all areas of the dental anatomy.

“We are excited to expand our family of high quality X-ray systems with ProVecta S-Pan Ceph,” said Lindsay Viola, product manager of diagnostic systems at Air Techniques. “Ideal for orthodontic and general dentistry, the S-Pan Ceph produces the best possible images, automatically every time. Our goal is to improve daily workflows by designing digital products that enable quicker and easier diagnosis while benefiting your patient and practice.”
