GreatLakes_3ShapeScannersGreat Lakes Orthodontics, Tonawanda, NY, has expanded its line of 3Shape orthodontic 3D scanners. The company now offers the R500, R750, and the new R2000.

The R2000 allows for upper and lower simultaneous scans. The scanners quickly capture plaster models and impressions using dedicated tools to achieve perfect occlusion, according to the company. In addition, study models can be created with just a few clicks.

The scanners feature 3Shape’s patented Adaptive Impression Scanning, which detects incomplete areas and automatically builds scan sequences to capture the full geometry in extreme detail. Users add virtual bases to their scanned models, allowing them to more efficiently and consistently replicate traditional physical models. In addition, the scanners use an open STL file format.
