Pic 1_optDentalEZ® Group, Malvern, Pa, introduces its new TruSim Clinical Practice Simulator. Geared toward dental students, TruSim is designed for students to practice dental procedures as though they are in a true clinical operatory setting.

TruSim features an ergonomic design intended to minimize motions while promoting correct posture to eliminate common back pain and musculoskeletal disorders. The tapered, narrow back is designed to provide precise lap positioning of the manikin head and easy access to the oral cavity. The unit can be positioned for either two- or four-handed dentistry, and it glides from left to right without having to utilize extra tools.

TruSim comes in both stationary and mobile versions with a locking base. Its features include touchpad-controlled handpieces to support operation of various air and electric-driven handpieces and two storage compartments that accommodate equipment. Users can also opt for a single door with optional locks.

The TruSim’s position adjustment spans 23 inches to 29 inches in height to accommodate a wide range of student sizes. Sizing in at 15 inches wide and 37 inches deep (27 inches stored), the TruSim’s small footprint is designed for quick and efficient storage. The TruSim can be fully integrated into any Nevin Workstation and stored in a compact downward position to save space. In addition, delivery units can be folded and stationed inside the simulator for increased storage.
