3Shape, Copenhagen, Denmark, recently unveiled new versions of its D-series desktop scanners and two new D-series models—D2000 and D1000. The D2000 and D1000 feature multi-line scanning technology, a new 3Shape proprietary feature designed to increase scanning speeds by 30%.

The D2000 benchtop scanner includes several new features, including all-in-one scanning and a large interior with room for two models, designed to enable clinicians to capture both the upper and lower models, all inserted dies, and occlusion information in a single scan.

Both the D2000 and D1000 scanners are designed to “see” around dies in the model so that there is no need in most cases to remove dies during scanning.

This feature is intended eliminate scan workflow steps and reduce handling time for dental labs by up to 40%. Additionally, 3Shape Auto-Occlusion Technology merges the previously simultaneously scanned models within the software to create a correct bite.

The new versions of the D-series benchtop scanner include the D750 and D850, which the company calls “major upgrades” to the D700 and D800 scanner models. The new versions now feature a new technology platform as well as a larger interior space and blue LED for reduced scan noise. These features are also now available in the D900L. In addition, the D750, D850, and D900L now come with a 3-year subscription to 3Shape LABcare™. The LABcare bundle includes free yearly software updates, product training, and service. the subscription offer is available until September 30, 2015.
