The new Oral-B interactive electric toothbrush with Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity is designed to work with an Oral-Bsmartphone app. The digital features allow users to record brushing activity, set a target session length, and select preferred modes.
According to Oral-B, the customized app recognizes the motor sound of the electronic toothbrush and automatically activates a timer for a dentist-recommended 2-minute brushing session. The app also tracks the user’s brushing technique and progress, as well as offers oral care tips, news, and entertainment to make brushing more enjoyable, the company says.
Users can interpret the collected information to customize their brushing regimen or share specific stats with dental professionals.
Inspired by ideas from the eYeka crowd-sourcing community, the Oral-B interactive electric toothbrush with Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity will be available worldwide in June 2014. The new Oral-B app is now available on Apple’s app store; an Android version will be launched in August 2014.
