LED Imaging, Atlanta, has partnered with the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Dentistry, Memphis, Tenn, to provide access to oral and maxillofacial imaging technology for the center’s students, residents, and faculty.

Through the collaboration, LED Imaging will provide residents and dental students at the center with hands-on training using the RAYSCAN ? – Expert multi-function digital imaging system.

This new equipment and training brings the latest in dental imaging technology to the University’s on-campus teaching clinic, which provides learning opportunities and oral healthcare to the Memphis community, seeing more than 52,000 patient visits a year.

“LED Imaging’s technology is vital to our clinical efforts and a tremendous asset to our students, faculty, and community,” says Dr Timothy Hottel, professor and dean of the UT College of Dentistry.

Developed by Ray Co, Ltd, the RAYSCAN ? – Expert features 3D cone beam computed tomography, panoramic, and cephalometric capabilities. Images are captured using a 9 x 9 cm field of view, while its CMOS and direct deposition cesium Iodide detector allow for quick capture of high-quality, 16-bit DICOM images at a low radiation dose.
