Great Lakes Orthodontics FormX210The biocryl Form-X CT radiographic stent material from Great Lakes Orthodontics, Tonawanda, NY, is now available in 2 mm/125 mm square for use with vacuum machines. The company states that the uniform radiopaque material simplifies the stent fabrication and provides clear scans and defined tooth shapes without the use of barium.

The Form-X material adapts to a replica of the diagnostic wax-up model or directly to a composite mock-up. Once thermal-formed and trimmed, the appliance is inserted in the patient’s mouth and a CT scan is taken. Form-X conforms within the planned prosthesis for optimal restorative outcome, the company adds.

Form-X is also available in 2 mm/125 mm round for use with Biostar® and MiniSTAR® thermal-forming machines.
