The California Dental Association (CDA) held its biannual convention, titled “The Art and Science ofDentistry,” in San Francisco last week. Running September 22 to 24, theevent was expected to draw more than 16,000 orthodontists, dentists,staff, and students.

The convention featured a number of workshops, including one on composite artistry focused on restoring anterior teeth with a singleshade. Other offerings included a workshop on the placement ofmini-implants for mandibular denture retention.

The meeting also offered a look at a number of new products,including Bien Air Dental’s Micro-Series Handpiece Collection,ImageWorks’ NewTom 5G cone beam scanner, and Orascoptic’s Freedom LEDCordless Headlight.
